Stopping a dog from jumping is hard, so you will need to be patient when trying this, the theory behind it is that when they see someone they notice or even someone new automatically it triggers a reaction of ‘I can get attention here’. Because of this the dog struggles to contain his or her excitement.
Usually in this case the owner reinforces the behaviour with negative words, the dog can feel this criticism however they have no idea why they’re getting it.

Firstly, remain in control of the situation. If the dog sees you getting frustrated it shows you are not in control and therefore you don’t look like a leader. So don’t be over excited when you see your dog, the dog will emulate your behaviour and mirror your actions. If you keep calm so will they.

Secondly, exercise plays an important role in training your dog, if he/she doesn’t get enough energy out of their system, they will crave all the attention they can get. Stop dog jumping by giving your dog the action it craves.

It’s much simpler if your dog already knows a basic command already. Just teach your dog the word ‘off’. Remember the best time to teach your pet a new trick is after exercise. When my dog started to jump on me I would turn my back to her, she then would sit, when she sat I’d give her a treat. The dog could understand why she was being praised after a few times of doing this.

Teaching your dog a trick well and being consistent in your teaching at all times will mean you have a well mannered dog. You’ll be proud taking him or her anywhere, knowing he will obey you. The tips above should help in your attempt to How to stop a dog from jumping.

Modern culture these days has grown less and less understanding of misbehaved or out-of-control pets; Click here to visit secrets to dog training and discover why teaching your pet important obedience can secure a warm welcome both in your home and best behaviour outdoors. Establishing yourself as the pack leader will create a strong bond of trust; also this action promotes a an atmosphere of security in your canine.

Training your dog to sit.

Teaching your dog to sit consists of bonding between you and your pet, in order to establish a good relationship with him or her you need lots of patience and even more treats!

Firstly, call your dog over to you, when they come to you make eye contact and show them an incentive, a snack or their favourite toy, whatever works for you. When the dog is fixated on the incentive hover it above their head and they should automatically sit down, if not just push their back end down and say sit in an authoritative manner.

When your dog begins to take the orders award them a treat to show you have acknowledged his or her progress, keep doing this until it becomes a habit. Remember your dog needs to trust you and when trust is established by consistency the relationship gets stronger.

Always be obvious with commands, don’t confuse your pet by giving orders that are acceptable to you however unacceptable to any other characters your pet may encounter. An example of this would be if you were to have a guest over and your dog paws their new friend, as far as they know they haven’t done anything wrong. If you teach your dog something it’s not going to know when an when not to do it.

Establish yourself as the leader, dogs originally hunt in packs, so if you put yourself in the mindset of your pet you’ll realize when you are teaching them a trick they are working for a treat, when the dog starts to perform these commands on cue you know he sees you as a leader. This is very important in how to train your dog to sit.

Giving your pet easy to understand instructions and positive interaction when they do it correctly will gain the trust needed to make them content and playful. Once your dog has trust in you the possibilities are endless, and you can teach them a lot more than just sit. Learn more at secrets to dog training

Training a Puppy to Walk On a Leash

The most important thing you should do is get your puppy a collar, get them used to it by buying a light one which won’t cause any unneccessary stress. Training a dog to walk on a leash is about rewarding the correct behavior. At first your dog may not respond well to the collar however if you persist they will get used to it, try putting it on when he/she is eating or when you’re about to play with him.

once your dog has stop fighting his collar, then you can put on the leash. Get an elastic leash, and follow the same instructions as the collar, putting it on for eat and play. Ensure you keep an eye on your dogs behaviour to see how he reacts to it each time, it should get better so be patient.

From here it is generally a downhill walk, once the collar is on attach the leash and walk outside, when the dog is young most of the time they will follow you wherever you walk, slowly adapting to the process. If he’s walking with you and the leash is loose, give him praise, talk positively while making eye contact encouraging the good behaviour. If your puppy gets too excited and starts to pull on the leash just stop walking, he’ll realize to walk at your pace and once this happens congratulate him with a treat.
Once you do this often the canine understands that because of his manners this is the correct way he should act, if he goes too fast, just stop and call his name, do the same if he goes too slow, remember he should be going at your speed, because you’re the leader. Remember, don’t pull, Just be calm, consistent, gentle yet firm.

If you plan on dog leash training you should look at secrets to dog training, I personally recommend it after using it on my 8 week old Dalmatian and on my 4 year old Labrador.

Housetraining your dog

On average 88% of pets live indoors, so it’s normal for your dog to be trained to go through housebreaking sooner rather than later, it’s not hard and it establishes trust between you and your new friend. Unfortunately it can take time and patience is required, though the harder you work with them the less time you’ll spend working on it.

1. If you see your dog in the middle of it, try not to be angry, it will upset the pet!
2. Teaching works both ways, just because your pup does wrong don’t just punish them for it, reward them when they achieve the desired result. You don’t want your beloved pet confused what they did wrong!

housebreaking a puppy

The average age to start housebreaking a puppy is about 7 weeks old, any younger and your pet may not understand commands and therfore not respond correctly. Typically dogs learn by being took outdoors frequently, times to take them outside would be after they wake up, after food and after exercise. Don’t forget to take your pup to the same spot so they know where you want the business done.

The standard age to begin with housebreaking a puppy is generally 8 weeks old, any less and your family pet may not know commands and thus not really respond properly. Typically dogs learn when they are took outside the house often, times to take them to the garden would be whenever they wake up, after food and after exercise. Don’t forget to take your dog to the exact same spot so they know where you want the company done.

Once your canine has allayed himself it’s time to reward him/her. Remember that the sooner after he’s finished his business you allow him a treat the quicker he’s going to discover that with excellent behaviour comes great goodies. This sets a foundation should you need to teach your pet any other tricks!

Generally the older your canine the less frequent the sessions, a younger dog will probably need to urinate upto 8 times per day, consequently you should keep an eye on your pet while it is actually young to mend the routines when not done properly, if you don’t have the time to personally keep watch of your dog just keep him inside of a crate with newspaper till you may teach on a much better time.

Tip – When your dog urinates as soon as he sees you see it as a compliment! He’s happy to see you. This guide should help you in housebreaking your puppy and should be one of the first lessons taught to him.

Just like how we sometimes lose our energy for life as we get older so do dogs, physically emotionally and mentally every mammal changes, heres a guide to helping you understand when your dog is stressed.

1. Just like some of us, dogs lose hair too – its inevitable that this happens with age, there are supplements available to help slow down this process but as long as you brush your dogs hair regularly it will ensure the coat stays at it’s best.

2. When clipping your dogs nails you may realize they are less strong than they used to be, again this is likely to happen so don’t worry it’s just life.

3. Teeth – Brush your pups teeth at lease once every couple days to avoid them getting gum disease, if you find this difficult to do not to worry, just buy pedigree dentastix. they’re proven to do the job.

4. Behaviour – As your dog ages it often has less energy and if it had behavioural problems younger they may develop stronger the older the pet, this could be caused by many symptoms but if your dog is deaf that may be one of many reasons why they may be in a worse mood than you’re used too.

5. Just like deafness dogs often contract sclerosis, this is a condition which means the dog has cloudy vision which would frustrate anyone, be sure to give your dog regular checkups from a vet to check your dog’s health and happiness.

6. Feed your dog healthier the older it gets – As you exercise less your caloric intake needs to decrease, this keeps your dog healthy despite the lack of exercise, it also helps boost the immune system which insures he or she gets no diseases.

7. If your dog needs vaccinnations by all means get them, because you’re dog cannot speak to you it’s pivotal you can judge it’s behaviour, if you think your pups in pain take them to the vet and see what they say about it.

These tips should help keep your canine cool as mother nature takes it’s course. The health of your dog is everything so ensure you take good care of your pet.

If you have owned pets before this might be easier, however for the new pet owner this can be difficult, here are a few factors you will be facing when attempting to stop a dog barking. Just about the most frustrating will likely be thought of as housetraining, thankfully that’s for another day. The next most bothersome issue is usually a barking pup, nobody enjoys that!

Herein you’ll learn methods for teaching your dog to keep quiet whenever you ask for silence, with caring methods (not muzzles!).
Typically a dog barks because he or she is communicating with you, but certain times, like the middle of the night; neighbours will be irritated. Here I will teach everyone two techniques to stop the bark and revel in the tranquility it generates.

First, try a bark collar, whenever your puppy barks that collar shall vibrate, shocking them, this passes by until your dog realizes why theres a the vibration, this better only be used if your canine doesn’t become overanxious.

Secondly, some people report excellent success citronella collar. This can be described as collar that will sprays citrus and water on the dogs vision when he or she barks, the challenge with this is that some people say this is cruel, I’d tend to agree personally. But the outcome speaks for itself.

Additionally, ignore them – this can be hard but generally dogs bark because they crave curiosity, so now is the time when they do it on, you ignore these, this as well confirms your status as the leader, that’s always beneficial.
The opposite to the current method may be to give your canine the attention they demand, believe it or not dogs do tire, you just need a very good throwing arm and then a bench if they’re a of dynamo!

These answers are simple to do and yield results to stop a dog barking especially when done with patience. It’s worth spending time on a lot of these tricks as no-one wants to see their own dog using a muzzle around it’s mouth.

Sometimes the best secrets are the obvious ones, Choosing a method tailored for your dog’s breed, age, and character will mean the best outcome while using an average method may not work with every dog. Researching different ways of training your dog and talking to your veterinarian will assist you in picking the most effective training choice on your behalf and your canine. If your puppy isn’t housebroken or your dog without warning becomes aggressive, you can find very simple and effective techniques to retrain that behavior issue. Thinking that the dog training school is the only alternative is something many new pet owners think, however this is not the case.

These days there are guides available tailored to your relationship with your dog, While it’s best to train when your pet is actually young, there are plenty of methods that work for different age groups and varieties of dogs. One of the oldest tricks in the book when it comes to training dogs is the infamous clicker training method. Created inside 1940′s, this procedure was popularized inside the early 1990′s. To learn more, click the link at the end of this article for a guide to training your dog.

Making use of this method in your house is cheap requiring just the purchase of the clicker together with relevant treats. Clicking the device a number of times based on the required outcome earns the dog a reward if he or she performs this chosen job. Eventually, the clicker and the treat are phased out as pet becomes useful to doing that errand. Similarly to all exercise methods, consistence is vital. With consistent training, your dog will be obedient. You will yell less and be less frustrated with the pet’s behavior. In the end, having a well-behaved pet results in a safe and happy home for anyone living there including your pet.

To learn the best way of training your dog that’s worked for thousands of owners all around the world Click here to visit secrets to dog training, It helps you develop a relationship with your dog, I use it myself so I know it’s effective, fun too!
